Winchester Bay Salmon

As the ocean non-selective coho season approaches (Saturday, Sept. 3rd), the number of Chinook salmon caught at Winchester Bay has been disappointing. Slightly cooler weather should allow for some improvement in the fishing and Chinook fishing in the Siuslaw River and in Coos Bay has been good.

Although the Chinook numbers seem to be down for the Umpqua River, there seems to be lots of big fish - like this 32 pounder taken last week.
