Smallmouth Bass Now Present in Lookout Point Reservoir

I suppose it was inevitable, since the smallies present in Dexter Reservoir, which is immediately downstream of Lookout Point, can swim all the way to the base of the dam which forms Lookout Point Reservoir, they still need help to actually get into the reservoir.

LOP may be the rare Oregon smallmouth fishery that isn’t prone to stunting. The 13 mile-long reservoir is loaded with potential predators including large rainbow and cutthroat trout, large crappies, largemouth bass and walleyes.

Hopefully, LOP will become a regular producer of sizable smallmouth bass.
